MFRMLS is proud to welcome Carlos A. Fuentes as its new 2009-2010 President. Inducted at the April 24th Board of Director’s meeting, Carlos was sworn in by John Fridlington, Executive Vice President of FAR.
Carlos brings a wealth of experience to the leadership of MFR. Previously, he has served as the 2007 President of the Greater Tampa Association of REALTORS® (GTAR) and a Director of NAR in 2008. Carlos currently serves as the NAR Regional Coordinator for North and Central America and the Caribbean, 2009 FAR Director and the International Operations Committee, and is a member of the NAR International Speaker Cadre. He holds the Transnational Referral Certification and is a TRC Certified Instructor.
Recent honors include the NAR 2003 International Outreach Effort Award and the 2006 President’s Liaison Award, attesting to his international real estate experience. He has also received the GTAR 2008 Deal of the Year Award.
For the past quart-century, Carlos has been heavily involved in commercial real estate as a corporate manager, operations officer, consultant and REALTOR®. He is an accredited Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS).
Carlos is looking to expand MFR’s commercial reach within the upcoming year by providing specialized services to specific groups, like commercial real estate practitioners, appraisers and property managers. By adding new databases, searchable fields and software MFR can enhance its suite of services.
Apart from his busy schedule, Carlos loves to travel overseas, dine on fine international cuisine and, best of all, spend quality time with his wife Martha. He is also a proud grandfather of two girls.
Professionally, Carlos is also proud of the staff at MFR and the new Board of Directors, also inducted on April 24th [see story here]. Although we are in the midst of a very unique market, we are fortunate to have Carlos and his vast experience at the helm. We’re looking forward to having an exciting and eventful year.
"We will remain in the middle of opportunities, resist challenges that impact our mission and vision and move swiftly in the direction of our Strategic Plan and circumstances dictate."
